For Immediate Release
STAMFORD, CT (Jan. 23, 2008)—Tradition Energy has been slated to present two educational seminars at the upcoming Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2008 (www.gnhccexpo.com) to be held January 30, 2008 at the Winchester/USRAC facility.
At 10 a.m., Bill Cannon, Tradition Energy’s Director of Commercial & Industrial Accounts for the NY, NJ and CT Region, will moderate a panel discussion on “Energy Procurement: Deregulation, Choice, and Connecticut’s Energy Future.” Panelists will include Addison Armstrong, Director of Market Research for Tradition Energy and frequent guest on CNBC, who will discuss the factors that affect prices in the wholesale energy markets and the impact on retail electricity; John Bennett, Director of Business Development for Constellation New Energy, to represent the retail electricity provider perspective and discuss typical supply options available to Connecticut power customers; and State Representative Steve Fontana (D-North Haven), who serves as House co-Chairman of the General Assembly’s Energy & Technology Committee, to share a legislative perspective on Connecticut’s energy future.
“We’re so pleased to have John Bennett and Representative Fontana joining us for this seminar,” comments Tradition Energy’s Bill Cannon. “Since the advent of full deregulation a year ago, Connecticut power customers have had many questions. We’re looking forward to having the rare opportunity to bring together an energy advisor, a market expert, a supplier and a legislator in one place to address the concerns of the decision makers responsible for procuring energy for their businesses.”
At noon, Lauren Pera, leader of Tradition Energy’s Business Development team, will facilitate a seminar on “Going Green: Developing a Clean Energy Strategy That Works for Your Business.” Pera will be joined by Adam Raphaely, Environmental Products Specialist for TFS Energy, who will discuss offsetting a company’s carbon footprint by purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs); Lizbeth Guerrero, Director of Supply for Suez Energy, who will address the green energy options available from retail electricity providers in the state; and Lise Dondy, President of the CT Clean Energy Fund, who will share insights on the future of renewable energy projects in Connecticut.
“So many companies in Connecticut realize the social and environmental benefits of choosing green energy, but the renewable power market is so new that many energy procurement manager don’t know where to start,” remarks Pera. “This seminar will help energy decision makers begin to develop a green energy strategy that makes good business sense.”
Tradition Energy will also be on the expo floor in booth 501. Over 4000 business professionals from the New Haven region will attend Business Expo 2008, which also features a keynote address by best-selling author Seth Godin. Registration is free at http://www.gnhccexpo.com/registration.html.
